deCoubertin Books, the small publisher with big ideas, has launched a range of exclusive limited edition covers as part of its pledge to raise £5000 for the Neville Southall Foundation.
To celebrate publication of Southall’s forthcoming autobiography, The Binman Chronicles, the publisher has teamed up with leading Liverpool-based creative design agency Milkyone to produce a range of five limited edition versions of his book.
Signed by Southall, these exclusive editions boast original cover artwork and are available only from decoubertin.co.uk. A minimum of £10 from the sale of each book will be donated to the Neville Southall Foundation.
The covers showcase some of Southall’s incredible football achievements, including the 1984 FA Cup win, the 1985 European Cup Winners Cup Final victory, the 1987 League Championship, the 1995 FA Cup win and his record 92 Wales caps.
Books will be dispatched after the publication date of 13 August 2012 and are all priced at £25 + P&P. A full catalogue showcasing the designs can be viewed by clicking here
‘These beautifully designed books are certain to become collectors’ items,’ said James Corbett, who has been collaborating with Southall on the book. ‘They are signed by a football icon and benefit a great cause. We expect them to sell out long before the launch date, so my advice is to make no delay in choosing your favourite and place an order today.’
‘When I was approached by deCoubertin Books to design five Limited Edition dust jackets for Neville’s autobiography it was a great honour,’ said Thomas Regan of Milkyone Creative. ‘All those hours researching old photographs which needed to suit the years reflected on the covers was not only painstaking, but a joy. It was at this point I realised how unassuming Big Nev was. There’s not many images of him alone with a trophy in hand, the man’s modesty has proved to be this designers challenge!
‘I just hope what I have produced is befitting such an Everton great.’
The Neville Southall Foundation operates on a local basis throughout Wales, motivating people to widen and engage in participation in programmes linked to community sports activities. It focuses on benefiting Communities First areas and surrounding rural villages.
